Our Values and Distinctives

Values and distinctives we adhere to in fulfilling our mission and vision, that together make up the culture and community at Victory Church... (Click each value to expand the topic)

Vibrant worship,
magnifying the Lord firstly and above all, declaring He is worthy, giving Him all the glory, expressing passionately and boldly our love and commitment to Christ, knowing He inhabits the praises of His people, and that we receive His strength as we worship.
Integrity and stability,
walking the talk, living what we preach, no hidden motives, absolute sexual and financial purity, not power hungry, not faddish or easily moved.
Clear purposes,
living our lives for the purpose and glory of God, the goal is God Himself and it's all about Him. God has a great plan for each of our lives and for His people, His agenda, resulting in true happiness and joy, seeing the whole earth filled with His glory!
True love and acceptance,
realizing every person is important and valuable no matter where they are in life, where they came from, what they have done; that everyone has needs, and love is every one's deepest need, that God works from the inside out and not the outside in, that all of us are called to encourage, feed and shepherd others, helping them find the Good Shepherd, the power of the gospel, His green pastures and still waters with the flock of God.
Outreach to our community, nation and world,
reaching everyone we can, while we can, not putting size limits on God's family; being an example, developing relationships with people, doing good works, showing mercy and justice, remembering the poor, and presenting the invitation of the glorious gospel of Christ to all who haven't heard, realizing that the "cause of Christ" is the most exciting and worthwhile adventure we can be a part of! We want to make it hard to go to hell around Victory Church, and easy for them to find the way to Heaven, protecting people form a "Christ-less eternity". We are a "Great Commission Church" where "every member is a missionary".
Relevance in our message and methods,
effectively communicating God's unchanging Word in our changing world.
You are empowered to be a minister,
shaped by God for a specific task in life, a specific assignment, "every member is a minister", discovering, developing and deploying, through trial, testing and training, the gifts, talents and abilities God had given us for the blessing of others, and for His glory. It's not just a job description, it's our part in the Body of Christ, serving Him, which no one else can fulfill like us since we're each unique.
Continual personal and spiritual growth,
reaching our full potential and possibility, identity and maturity, as a child of God from the Fatherhood of God; growing in character, living holy, living righteous; believing the best in our life is yet to come.
Holy Spirit power,
filled with the fullness of His Spirit, receiving His gifts, led by His Spirit, walking in His witness and power; experiencing the freedom, life and liberty of the Spirit, not religion, control, self-effort or excessive rules.
Uncomplicated structure,
focused on accomplishing our mission, avoiding church politics, organism before organization, the corporate organization being a servant to the spiritual body.
Relaxed atmosphere,
we work hard, but we work hard not to be hurried, giving time and attention to people, trusting God's schedule, as Jesus did when He walked the earth.
Committed to family,
all ages and all generations, children and youth, seniors, singles, college, career, divorced, working to bring healing, help and hope to any family situation, restoring God's ways for family from cradle to grave, fighting especially for the hearts and minds of the next generation, realizing they are our future.
Healing and victory in every area of life,
restoring lives to health and well-being, a full gospel with complete solutions, bringing heaven to earth, now and ultimately in eternity, knowing we'll have tests and trials in this life, seeking God for the victory, receiving victories through faith, and trusting Him with whatever we don't see in this life.
I am a servant,
walking in humility, going the extra mile, realizing true greatness is in servanthood.
No fear,
the devil is defeated, God has not given us a spirit of timidity, and we are committed to aggressive spiritual warfare based on Christ's victory over all the forces of darkness, evil and oppression.
Putting God in the center of our lives,
realizing God's power and glory flow from His church, the one thing He's building. The Church is God's true agent to bring forth the Kingdom of God.
Everyone a leader,
realizing we all are called to lead in certain areas of life, that few of us are born leaders, but that all of us can learn to lead, providing training to help people learn.
Vision and faith,
taking the limits off God, with God nothing is impossible, we serve a big God, don't ever give up, always expect a breakthrough, find God and you find a way.
Excited about the house of God,
enjoying God, people, relationships and working together in the family of God; doing life together as a house of heros and friends, sharing the life and joy of God in large and small venues, avoiding legalism, liberalism and license; no co-dependence, dysfunction, manipulation, insecurity or religious politics, but simply finding and doing our part, loving and laughing with our brothers and sisters in Christ, caring for each other, connecting and cultivating community, being a safety net against the world.
Living passionately,
expressing our love, resisting the apathetic, the lukewarm and the bane.
You are blessed to be a blessing,
receiving God's touch and blessing in our own lives, then reaching out with compassion to touch and bless others in every area of their lives,at every point of need, being a flowing river, not a "Dead Sea".
Maintaining unity in Christ's body,
first locally, hating gossip and strife, living in harmony in our local church, and then opening up to and working with others in God's church beyond our own group.
Influencing and impacting society and culture at every level
including the arts, government, education, media, medicine, sports, business and family; the Kingdom of God turns the world rightside up, not upside down, is radical and revolutionary, bringing peace, harmony, goodness, and the righteousess of God.
Showing excellence in everything
we do, say and think, to the glory of God. Attention to detail, being proactive, doing things completely, fully and right. Being good stewards of God's creation, not being afraid of prospering through God's blessing or provision. Not confusing excellence with perfection, which is paralyzing, but instead doing the absolute best we can with what we have, then trusting God for His help and blessing.
Seeking God always,
connecting people with God, realizing Christianity is is a relationship, not a religion, that God wants us to be His friends.
Other worldliness,
realizing heaven, hell, angels, the spiritual world, spiritual gifts and spiritual warfare are real!
Unleashing creativity,
thinking outside the box, allowing the Lord to show us new ways of extending His Kingdom.
Real generosity,
knowing God's resources are unlimited, living life big, making a difference! Go big or stay home.
Industrious,
working diligently and wholeheartedly for God, doing whatever we do with all our might! It's not what we do, but what we get done that counts. Better is the end of a matter than the beginning. Laziness and procrastination are sins. Christians are friends, but we are paid to produce, not for our friendliness.
Understanding the centrality of the gospel for victory
in life and eternity; the power of the cross, the shed blood of Jesus, the grace of God and not grit, receiving the life of God and not dead religion for our spiritual death, are the "cause of Christ" and the only hope of the world!
Sovereignty of God,
trusting in Him at all times, realizing God doesn't cause all things, but He causes all things to work together for good when we follow Him.
Attitude determines altitude,
expressing the life of God through faith, hope and love, not criticism, pessimism, pettiness and other negative attitudes. Positive attitudes come from the Spirit of God. Negative attitudes come from a focus on self. Our attitudes are especially revealed in suffering - loving the unlovable, tough circumstances, the pain of dying to some negative character trait, or being persecuted for the sake of true righteousness. No Christian is exempt from these things, and our attitudes determine our victory or defeat.
